Aloha is more than “hello” or “goodbye.” It is an expression of love and compassion, a way of sharing the joy and energy within you.

In February 2022, artists flooded social media with images of sunflowers—the national flower of Ukraine. Historically, sunflowers have represented peace in Ukraine, but since the invasion, they’ve become global symbols of unity, hope, and resistance.

I’m an artist/mama living in Hawaii. Over the last year I’ve given free art lessons to kids in our neighborhood and we painted flowers in honor of Ukraine. We offer them now as expressions of aloha in greeting cards and prints that can be shared with friends and family.

All the proceeds from our sales will be donated to the Children’s Emergency Fund of the Save the Children organization, which has been delivering essential humanitarian aid to Ukrainian children and families since 2014.

One year into the war, this small effort reminds us that it’s not too late to support the people of Ukraine. Our contributions may be simple, but they are meaningful and made with aloha.
